2021 Asia-Pacific Regional Forum on Sustainable Packaging Wraps Up Smoothly

To push forward low-carbon, long-term growth for Asia’s whole packaging supply chain, the 2021 Asia Regional Forum on Eco-Conscious Packaging took place in Shanghai from May 19 to 20. This high-level gathering built a premium communication channel for all attending participants, allowing them to get in-depth insights into the latest industry trends, official regulatory benchmarks, relevant green policies, alongside cutting-edge innovative packaging techniques available on the market.

Driven by booming economic expansion across Asia and rising household consumption capacity, market consumption of edible goods, bottled drinks and daily beauty care products has kept climbing year after year, which in turn fuels robust advancement within the regional packaging manufacturing sector. On the other hand, rising public ecological awareness has greatly lifted market preference for recyclable, low-carbon packaging solutions. Under such market backgrounds, Asia’s packaging manufacturers are standing at a crossroads filled with massive development prospects yet unprecedented industrial hurdles.

Against the backdrop of widespread digitalization, modern shoppers now attach greater importance to information openness and genuine product disclosure. Coupled with rising public environmental consciousness, eco-friendly packaging has transformed from a niche concept into a universal expectation put forward by end buyers and the whole society.

“Packaging never merely serves a basic wrapping function; it carries far more value beyond its fundamental duties.” Beyond its core roles including product shielding, shelf-life retention and brand identity display, modern packaging can perform diversified extended functions: acting as anti-fake identification carriers, brand promotion delivery tools, full lifecycle traceability tags, touchpoints stimulating repeat consumption, and critical media bridging brands and their target customer groups.
